Dedalus, Europe’s largest healthcare software provider, has announced a €10 million expansion of its Irish operations, creating 100 high-value roles over the next four years and bringing its total Irish workforce to 150.

The company specialises in digital health solutions, including interoperable electronic health records, clinical decision support, diagnostics, and imaging platforms.

The expansion, supported by IDA Ireland, was described by Taoiseach Micheál Martin TD as a boost to Ireland’s digital health ambitions, reinforcing the country’s role in European healthcare technology.

Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment Peter Burke TD highlighted that the investment strengthens Ireland’s digital health capabilities and supports improved healthcare outcomes nationwide.

Dedalus Healthcare Ireland’s Executive Director, Cathy McCartan, explained that the investment enables expansion of the Irish team and capabilities, supporting hospitals and community services while improving patient outcomes and system-wide decision-making.

Michael Lohan, Chief Executive of IDA Ireland, added that the new roles contribute to innovation in patient care and reinforce Ireland’s position within the European health-tech sector.

The expansion underscores Dedalus’s involvement in major Irish digital health initiatives, including new clinical applications at Beaumont Hospital, laboratory system upgrades at St James’s Hospital, and national programmes such as the National Medicinal Product Catalogue, National Terminology Service, and National Data Dictionary.

Dedalus remains the only large-scale EHR provider actively shaping European digital health policy through the European Health Data Space and European Electronic Health Record Exchange, ensuring compliance with EU data protection and AI regulations.
