Ireland’s health regulator is keeping a close watch following a UK warning over unlicensed botulinum toxin treatments that led to dozens of adverse reactions. 

British authorities reported 38 cases of iatrogenic botulism tied to cosmetic procedures, prompting concerns over product safety and cross-border availability. The Health Products Regulatory Authority (HPRA) has emphasised vigilance and public awareness around unapproved aesthetic treatments.
